We are committed to protecting the privacy of your garage business, your staff, and your customers. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our software and services.
1. Information We Collect
To provide our POS, billing, and inventory services, we collect the following types of information:
- Account Information: Your name, business name, phone number, physical address, and email address when you register.
- Workshop & Billing Data: Invoices generated, parts inventories, categories, prices, discounts, VAT options, and transaction records.
- Customer Records: Client names, phone numbers, motorbike plate numbers, mileage details, and vehicle servicing history logs.
- Payment Verification Data: Uploaded proof of payments (screenshot, transaction reference) for subscription plan activation.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following core purposes:
- To initialize and operate your digital workshop workspace.
- To compute calculations, record invoices in Bikram Sambat, and build billing histories.
- To help you track bike service histories and flag low-stock items on your dashboard.
- To verify subscription transfers (manual bank deposit, eSewa, or Khalti verification) and activate features.
- To troubleshoot issues, provide technical support, and improve app functionality.
3. Data Ownership and Security
You own all the business and customer data you input into Hamro Workshop. We do not sell, rent, or distribute your workshop database or customer lists to any third parties.
We implement industry-standard database security measures, backups, and SSL encryption to secure your transactions and data files. However, please ensure that you secure your login credentials to prevent unauthorized access.
4. Data Retention
We retain your workshop data (invoices, inventory, customer records) for the duration of your active subscription. If your subscription expires or you cancel your account:
- Your data is preserved in read-only state for 30 days after expiry to allow you to renew or export your information.
- After 30 days of inactivity without renewal, we reserve the right to permanently delete your workspace data.
- Payment verification records (proof of payment uploads) are retained for accounting and dispute resolution purposes for up to 12 months.
5. Your Rights
As a user of Hamro Workshop, you have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: You can view all your workshop data (invoices, inventory, customer records) at any time through the application dashboard.
- Correction: You can update or correct your business information, customer records, and inventory data directly within the application.
- Deletion: You may request complete deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email address listed below.
- Portability: You may request an export of your data in a standard format by contacting our support team.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
Hamro Workshop uses browser cookies and local storage for the following essential purposes:
- Authentication: Session cookies are used to keep you securely logged in to your account.
- Preferences: Local storage is used to remember your display preferences (such as light/dark mode).
We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics services that track individual user behavior.
7. Third-Party Integrations
Hamro Workshop does not process credit cards directly. Any payments made for subscriptions (eSewa, Khalti, or bank transfer) are verified manually via details you upload. We also display your uploaded payment QR images (for eSewa, Khalti, or bank transfers) on invoices for customer convenience. We do not process or intermediate any customer-to-shop payments.
8. Children's Privacy
Hamro Workshop is a business-to-business tool designed for use by garage and workshop owners. Our services are not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
9. Data Breach Notification
In the unlikely event of a data breach that compromises your personal or business information, we will:
- Notify affected users via their registered email address within 72 hours of confirming the breach.
- Provide details on the nature of the breach, the data affected, and steps we are taking to resolve it.
- Recommend actions you can take to protect your account (such as changing your password).
